A short explanation of how to operate the Talkspace client.

If you dont get this prompt and the control doesnt seem to have installed, your web browser might not be set up to accept Active X controls. Currently Talkspace is supported in Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.0 and higher. We will provide more details on Netscape support soon. The MacOS or Linux/Unix are not supported. To enable Active X in IE, go to Tools/Internet Options and then click on the Security tab to see what your browser security level is. You can then select Default Level, and if your browser security is set to Medium or lower then you should be able to install Talkspace. As a next step, press the Custom Level button and you should ensure that signed Active X controls are set to enabled or prompt. You can then refresh this page and you should then be able to get Talkspace to install.

If you are not seeing the Talkspace application just below this text then check our instructions above to set up your browser to support ActiveX. Press the Join Demo Conference button to get started. If Talkspace reports an error, then it is likely you are operating behind a firewall, check our FAQ for solutions
After you press Join Demo Conference you should see something like the images above, with member names listed in the Talkspace window are. If you get a conference manager error or Talkspace crashes, your system or firewall may be blocking Talkspace and have caused a crash. check our FAQ for solutions to this situation. If you are all the way to this step, click on the Talkspace area below to make sure it is the focus of attention for your web browser and press and hold your Ctrl (control) key on your keyboard and speak into your microphone. Now you're Talking!: While you are pressing the Ctrl key down and speaking into your microphone the Microphone Signal Level Meter should show colored bars moving up and down. This indicates that your voice is being picked up. If you dont see this level indicator move (or there is a red cross through it), then you may have to adjust your microphone settings. See our steps on setting up your microphone and sound for Talkspace. If your sound is reported to be faint by others (you should hear them) then you might have to adjust your microphone recording level. If others sound faint then you may have to turn your speaker volume up. Note that if you are running anothe program that controls volume, such as software that plays MP3s, you might find that the volume level on it actually overrides the volume levels you set up in Windows. Start any such sound playback program and adjust its volume level to test. When you are all done talking: Finishing your voice conference is easy, you can press Leave Demo Conference and you will exit the voice meeting without stopping Talkspace. If you simply close the web page where Talkspace is running, you will close the Talkspace application. Note that there is a couple of seconds of delay while the web browser unloads the Talkspace component, so please be patient. If nothing is working..Of course if none of the above works, you might ask someone for help who could tell if your computer has a sound card and if your microphone and speakers are connected into the correct jacks. All problem solving resources Having problems, see our Talkspace FAQ or guide to getting your microphone and sound working for Talkspace.Feel free to contact us if you just cannot figure this out any other way!
